Alpine SWR-1042D
March 14, 2009 by admin

The Alpine Type - R SWR - 1042D comes from the family of Type - R subwoofers for cars manufactured by Alpine. The electronics giant is seeing a major rush for the product due to the optimal pricing and the great mix of SPL.
Everything seems to be going right for the Alpine Type-R SWR-1042D subwoofer except a small glitch. It totally bottoms out at a mere 26Hz! Users however seem to be unperturbed by this fact as the price saves the day for the SWR-1024D. "You can't expect more than that at this price," seems to be the common rhetoric. According to some, the subwoofers are so loud; they shake the rear view mirror of the car!

However, a few faulty pieces, angry customer reviews and general dissatisfaction about the price vs performance have also been reported. Evidently, not many think the Alpine Type-R SWR-1042D is a great buy for the price as it simply has no such performance co-efficient. It is not built to handle big power and as such short circuits when used extensively at high decibels. More people are opting for the Sony Xplod than the Alpine Type-R.
The Alpine offering goes well with the MTX 810D and provides a satisfactory movie experience. Customers can get twice as better a deal than the SWR-1024D, Type-R from Alpine but then they would have to shell out twice as much as well! The product is definitely a good buy. This car audio subwoofer weighs a mere 18 pounds and comes with 4 ohm voice coils. The general trend for the project is neutral with people either falling in love with the product or plain badmouthing it. Take the road less traveled, check out a piece at a friend's and decide for yourself.
